    Windows 7 64 bit <-- SOLVED Empty Windows 7 64 bit <-- SOLVED

Post by dwarf 2011-03-18, 5:10 pm

    Hello,

I have a new laptop now and it is Windows 7 64 bit, SINS would simply not start, just crash right away when I try to start it...

    Any ideas?

    -----
    Update:

Make sure you have 100% Display scaling... not 125% as it defaults to some large resolutions laptops...

Ok this is what I tried so far:

    1. tried uninstall/install several times .NET 4.0 + the C++ library

    2. I have it run as admin + Compatibility mode XP, still no dice, any idea?

    3. Downloaded it again from website.

    4. Disabled my firewall

    5. Disabled my antivirus (as Kaspersky still finds it as a threat)

All these did not work yet :(
    Any other ideas?

    Thanks all for your input.

at the first, i think you can reinstall your C++ x64, and nEt 4.0 x64 for win 7 64 bit( not x86). And then you can disable Centre Security of win( system defendse, anti virus, firewall set normal). Redownload the newest the Sin on the 4Rum, and Run it as Admin. I use Win7 64bit no problem with Sin

actually, I got the same problem as you when I tried to use SIN 2.1. You should try to change the setting theme. For me, It worked.

WTF? What does display size (font) gotta do with SINS? This is obviously some NET 4.0 bug.

SINS doesn't even use anything theme related.

    Hehe, no idea :)
But give it a try in ur machine in debug mode, I am sure you will find the reason...

The exception that was thrown was System.ArgumentException... details above.

    Thanks.
